How Much is Too Much?

The laws around the recreational use of cannabis (also referred to as the “adult use”) are as new and fresh as a just-rolled joint. So, we here at Rare Garden want to make sure that our customers and clients enjoy our rare, connoisseur-quality cannabis safely and responsibly.

Here’s a quick refresher on what you can and can’t do these days in New York. Trust, it’s not so bad.

You can:

• Purchase cannabis legally in NY for personal enjoyment and consumption (without a medical card) from a licensed retailer. (Yes, Rare Garden is a licensed Manhattan dispensary.)
• Buy up to 3 oz. of cannabis
• Buy up to 24 oz. of concentrated cannabis.
• Smoke or vape anywhere tobacco products are allowed under the Smoke Free Air Act (more on this below).
• Store up to five lbs. of cannabis in your home. (See our storage tips, here.)

You can’t:

• Possess any amount of cannabis if you’re under the age of 21.
• Sell any amount of weed without a license.
• Drive while under the influence or while impaired by cannabis – don’t roll up and then roll out, friends.
• Use cannabis in motor vehicles (even if they’re parked).
• Use cannabis in outdoor dining areas at restaurants.
• Smoke weed or use electronic cigarettes in most workplaces and public spaces. This includes areas near hospital entrances, in parks, beaches and pedestrian plazas – under the Smoke Free Air Act (SFAA).

Why are we telling you this? Because if you don’t obey these laws, you could get hit with a civil summons and fine. And nobody needs that. We want you out there living your best life.
